Pitt Won't Marry Until Gays Can

Stands by his decision despite 'flak' from religious right

(Newser) – Brad Pitt is standing firm in his decision not to marry “soul mate” Angelina Jolie until “it’s legal for everyone else,” he tells Parade. “I believe everyone should have the same rights. They say gay marriage ruins families and hurts kids. Well, I've had the privilege of seeing my gay friends being parents and watching their kids grow up in a loving environment.”

Even though he’s gotten “flak” for his decision—like the TV reverend who said “Angie and I were setting a bad example because we were living out of wedlock”—the couple seems as happy as ever. “Do you know how you tell real love? It's when someone else's interest trumps your own,” Pitt says. “The fear of losing” Angelina and their children “is what keeps me up at night.”

Believe me when you still have options it's hard to get married. Why would you want to.

I bet she's the one opposed and he can use this as a face saving explanation to the stupid questions stupid people are always asking about something that has nothing to do with them and is none of their business.

I was waiting for someone to bring up Angie's preference. I bet she's the one opposed and he can use this as a face saving explanation to the stupid questions stupid people are always asking about something that has nothing to do with them and is none of their business.
