(Newser) – Suspected Pittsburgh shooter George Sodini left behind an unsettling video diary which includes a tour of his home and a discussion of his romantic plans, the New York Post reports. In one of two videos posted to the web, Sodini points out his furniture: “Couch and chair—they match. A woman would really be impressed.” And of his bedroom: “It looks pretty clean. I'm sure she'll be impressed.”

Speaking directly to the camera, he says the author of How to Date Young Women—which is seen on his coffee table—told him he has “15 more years to be successful at this” and he wants to “start immediately” at his project to “be real and learn to be emotional.” But he also hints at something darker. “It is easy for me to hide from my emotions for one more day,” he says. “One more day turns into one more year.”

He was aiming too high. He was average, had a home, good job and he could have found an average woman with the same aspirations. But he was going for the women who can do better.
