Posted Aug 29, 07 4:47 PM CDT in Arts & Living Gossip US

(Newser) – A Spice Girl, a billionaire, a supermodel, a racecar driver, and a soap hunk will all be breaking out their dancing shoes for season five of Dancing with the Stars. The ABC hit, which revealed its new 12-person cast today, is slated to premiere next month with a new format that will emphasize the backgrounds of its stars, People reveals.

Melanie “Scary Spice” Brown, 90210 alum Jennie Garth, business maverick Mark Cuban, and singers Marie Osmond and Wayne Newton will join the TV dancing sensation. Co-host Samantha Harris, who is due to give birth in October, hopes to return to the show before the music stops.
