Tina Talks Emmys, Jay, and Sarah...Sorta

Share

(Newser) – As if its record 22 Emmy nominations weren’t enough, 30 Rock also recently landed a syndication deal. Tina Fey talks success—and Sarah Palin—with Broadcasting & Cable:

  • On possibly hosting the Emmys: "No, I think it's a hard job and a thankless one. I think maybe it's also a job for a standup [comic], and I was never a standup. I guess, never say never. But the thought of it makes me feel sweaty."

  • On 30 Rock's prospects in syndication: "I do think it is a show that stands up particularly well under repeat viewing. So many people say to me I watched, then I Tivo'd it again, then I watched a third time and noticed a whole other joke. Its denseness makes for good repeating."
  • On The Jay Leno Show: "My take is I have the fascinating curiosity of a 100% spectator. I'm going to be just really interested to see how the shows work together, that many hours of comedy and talk working together"
  • On what Sarah Palin should do next: "I wouldn't begin to know."

If John McCain had picked Tina Fey as his running mate, it would have been a much closer race ... and definitely more entertaining. Reply
