Coming Soon: Winehouse, the Musical?

Plus, yet more Michael Jackson news

Share

(Newser) – Amy Winehouse’s rise to fame and corresponding fall into drugs, alcoholism, and melodramatic relationships would make interesting theater—or at least her brother thinks so, the Sun reports. “I think one day there could be a musical of Amy's life,” he says. “You just don't ever know how far things can go these days—look at all this talk of a Jade Goody musical.” Elsewhere:

  • If Kelly Clarkson looked slimmer than usual on the cover of Self, it’s because her image was retouched, People reports. “Did we alter her appearance? Only to make her look her personal best,” says the Self editor. Ironically, Clarkson defends her weight inside the pages of the magazine.
  • Paula Abdul is in talks to guest star on Ugly Betty in what would be her first official post-Idol gig, Entertainment Weekly reports.
  • Liam Neeson returned to the red carpet for the first time since the death of his wife, at the premiere of his new film, Five Minutes of Heaven, the AP reports. No personal questions were allowed, but the actor said his version of heaven is being with his sons and he’s “kind of living it at the moment.”
  • Contrary to earlier reports, Michael Jackson is “not buried yet,” Joe Jackson tells E! In other Jackson news, son Blanket’s surrogate mother is a Mexican nurse named Helena and Michael himself is the biological father, according to the Mirror.

In reference to Amy Winehouse: the truth is often stranger (and more entertaining) than fiction! Reply
