Bachmann: I'm Being 'Palinized'

Calls for supporters' help against 'liberals' scorn'

Share

(Newser) – GOP Rep. Michelle Bachmann doesn’t want to be “Palinized”—that is, hammered with media attacks and “liberals’ scorn,” she writes in a fundraising letter to supporters. “Just as they did with Sarah Palin, the more I talk about the issues, the more they attack with below-the-belt personal hits,” Bachmann notes. "Don't let them Palinize me!" For the definition of “Palinize,” she points to the Urban Dictionary, Talking Points Memo reports.

Most of the definitions of “Palinize” she cites are pro-Palin, anti-media, TPM notes—excluding, perhaps, one: “to exaggerate the truth or lie by omission.” The Minnesota rep adds that “yesterday, a Minnesota paper gave a full column to a hit piece on one of my kids!” She apparently referred to a story about how her son had joined Teach for America, despite her calling AmeriCorps a “re-education camp.”

How sad. I imagine her son joined AmeriCorps to get away from her. Reply

I live in Bachmann's district, the MN 6th. It is a gerrymandered, rambling, oddly-shaped bit of geography that favors a stronghold of right-wing religiousity outside the East Metro area, though we are dragged along for the ride here in Woodbury. She is widely dismissed here, where we have educated voters, but her regular outbursts of stupidity still embarrass us. Whining about the media is just another way for a gadfly to call attention to herself. Reply

How are they able to gerrymander a district to overload it with stupid people? Just asking.

Can't you find someone else to replace her - like a moderate Republican?
