Rifle-Toting Protester Part of Staged Radio Interview

Share

(Newser) – An anti-reform protester who showed up near President Obama's town hall event in Phoenix with a semiautomatic assault rifle did so as part of a staged radio event, reports Talking Points Memo. The man who conducted the seemingly random interview with the gun-toting "Chris" is conservative talk radio host Ernest Hancock. He appeared on CNN today and said he and Chris have known each other for two years as Ron Paul supporters. While the interview was staged, he said the sentiments expressed were sincere.

"The more we look into this, the more it appears that it was really planned," said CNN's Rick Sanchez to Hancock. "Oh, it's more planned than you think," replied Hancock, who said they had informed local police ahead of time. Asked about the point behind the fake interview, in which Chris rails against big government and equates taxation with theft, Hancock said, "We're up against a tyrannical government that will rob the next generation as long as they can get away with it."

A man identified only as Chris states his opposition to health care reform and affirms his right to carry a military-style gun to an Obama event.

There was a Saturday Night Live skit, where Bill Murray, Steve Martin and 3-4 more were 50,000 BCE cave men. Bill Murray caveman was big strong and dumb, Steve Martin caveman was smart. The caveman clan tells big strong dumb Bill Murray, they no want him as leader, he strong but dumb, they follow other guy, not strong but smart. Later when all are asleep, Bill Murray crushes Steve Martin caveman's skull with a huge rock, and proclaims: Now me big, strong and SMART! Who said man evolves, got any proof of that? Reply

Annie, what you say rings true... trouble is at least by viewing this video and others is that some refuse to evolve and only exist to impose their ill will upon others which if given the opportunity they would indeed attempt to subjugate and that is the day that Liberty Tree they keep bragging about will be well watered indeed.

It's a sad day and society when we attempt to intimidate our President in such a juvenile manor; bringing weapons to a town hall meeting. Yeah, real American; embarrassingly despicable. Just imagine what the rest of the world is thinking...?

I am shocked. Conservatives setting up a false situation in order to make a point? Next thing you know they will make things up to start a war in a middle eastern count..........oh, wait.
