Wrestling Stars Smacked Down for Steroid Use

10 suspended after they're named in doping investigation

Share

(Newser) – Some top stars of World Wrestling Entertainment are being taken to the mat after a New York district attorney uncovered steroid use by over a dozen wrestlers. The list of athletes, obtained by the New York Daily News, includes big names like Randy Orton, Robert “Booker T” Huffman and Adam “Edge” Copeland. The league is suspending ten of those implicated.

Steroids have been a hot topic in wrestling since the deaths of Chris Benoit and Eddie Guerrero, both alleged users. An Albany DA discovered the latest wrestlers' names in an investigation of Signature Pharmacy, an internet operation raided for illegally distributing steroids and other  drugs. The probe is also expected to uncover top baseball and football clients.
