Berlusconi's Wife: He's Ridiculous

(Newser) – Already ridiculed for sex scandals, Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi now has to hear it from his estranged wife in a new book, reports the Guardian. Berlusconi is a "ridiculous figure before the world," said Veronica Lario, who filed for divorce in April.

The relationship's breaking point occurred when Berlusconi used an out-of-town sanitation meeting as a pretense to attend the 18th birthday party of aspiring actress Noemi Letizia, said Lario, 53, in the book Tendenza Veronica by Maria Latella. "Ten years ago I was not ready; today I can say with my head high, 'I am separating from this man.'"

You foreigners may find all this soap really entertaining but a growing number of us Italians is getting really sick with this shameless weirdo let free to act literally as he pleases by both friends and political opposers , free to bury us under his filth , fanatically defended against all evidences by his brainless yet very aggressive supporters, and a racist party taking advantage of the power of berlusconi to carry on separatist, racist politics . it is just like watching every day «Invasion of the Body Snatchers» . but our media keep telling us that berlusconi's popularity is always increasing and god himself couldn't stop him, his medic even said that berlusconi is "technically immortal". I am happy with this statement, this is proof that at least the real lunatics aren't us. Reply

Speaking only for myself, this American is tired of hearing about his antics. I feel for you being stuck with him much as we were stuck with GWB for 8 years.

thanks pal ... but it is twenty years strong that felon is haunting our politics backed by his horde of waged servants and prostitutes and this thing has gone on for way too long. I swear, WE ITALIANS are the ones who need to water the tree of freedom etc. ... WE are the morons that each now and then surrender ourselves, hands and feet tied, under the power of some fascist tyrant. berlusconi's sins, lies and real crimes are so many that it takes books to take account of them all. WE are the assholes who stare passively before a wave of sheer racism, bloody assaults against black, gay, foreign, left wing people, students, workers, neofascism and xenophobic hate without equal in our history. and many of us, both young and old, react violently when told that this, this crap we are dipped into is light years far from normality. like with mussolini, when berlusconi will finally be toppled no one will admit of having been his supporter. can one get so sick of his own fellow countrymen ? I never met anyone who admitted they voted for Bush, so I get your drift even though I can see what could of been if we did not have term limits...and what is because we don't have them for all branches of the government. Reply
