Discovery Set to Blast Off

Lightning could still delay launch

Share

(Newser) – NASA has cleared the Space Shuttle Discovery and its crew of seven to launch tomorrow, as long as a slight chance of lightning doesn't delay fueling efforts, reports Space.com. NASA won't fuel the spacecraft—preparing for a 13-day resupplying mission—if there is a 20% or greater chance of lightning within five miles. So far, skies are expected to be clear.

LOL. Seriously, Jon & Kate are sure to get many responses out of us, but America's amazing Space Shuttle program generates nothing? Reply

People think it's old hat . It's like nascar all they really want to see is the car wrecks . Unless something goes wrong with a shuttle launch or landing they're oblivious to what is going on up in space. Reply

I don't care about the rest of America, but I got chills when I read the above quote: "We are a go for launch" Reply
