(Newser) – Facebook is planning to expand its 1,000-strong staff by up to 50% this year, Mark Zuckerberg says, taking advantage of a surplus of engineers in a weak job market. In an interview with Bloomberg, the 25-year-old CEO also says he wants to turn a profit by next year, in part by clamping down on costs. "The thing I want to remind people of is we’re way closer to the beginning than the end," he says.

If anything, Facebook has dramatically been growing over the years. I remember back when I was in college, it was exclusively for college students with college e-mails. But now it has progressed to include anyone. As noted by the staggering numbers cited by y8gr: "250 million users and 5 billion active minutes"

I don't know a single person on Twitter.

Facebook is dying and this proves it further - he says he's hiring them to take advantage of the market full of engineers out of a job, not because they need them. Sorry dude, but everyone is on Twitter - you don't have to mess with so much bullshit there. Just add friends, say something to them, and be done with it.
