Judge orders actor to give up drinking after alleged bank break-in

(NEWSER) - Rip Torn appeared in court in Connecticut today to face charges related to an alleged bank break-in Friday evening and was released on $100,000 bond. The 78-year-old actor will enter alcohol rehab as soon as possible, his lawyer said. The numerous charges against him include burglary, trespassing, and carrying a firearm while intoxicated. (NEWSER) - Rip Torn is due in court tomorrow after allegedly breaking into a bank while "highly intoxicated" and carrying a loaded gun, Connecticut state police say. The 78-year-old actor broke a window to gain entry to a Salisbury bank Friday evening and is being held on $100,000 cash bond, reports the Litchfield County Register Citizen .
