Dad: Marriage Was 'Hell on Earth'

Claims Fiore lied, cheated

(Newser) – Friends and family of Ryan Jenkins and Jasmine Fiore are speaking out, painting a picture of a toxic relationship that ended with her murder and his suicide, the New York Daily News reports. Their marriage “was hell on Earth—I advised him 50 times to get out of that relationship,” says Jenkins’ father, who downplayed any signs of domestic violence, saying his son simply pushed Fiore into a pool after seeing her kiss another guy.

Jenkins, a wannabe reality star (VH1 has since canceled both his series) dazzled Fiore, who dreamed of hitting the big time in Las Vegas but instead found herself working as a cocktail waitress. “If my son was guilty, he was crazy. He was not the boy we knew,” Jenkins’ father tells the Calgary Times, calling his son “a wonderful young man, a thoughtful man.”

What you may be sure of is that the father tied to raise a better son, or thought he was raising a better son. The results-- his son killed his own wife and then committed suicide-- are strong indicators that the father's efforts, for whatever reason, failed.

I feel very sorry for the families and friends of both of these people. It must be hellish enough for them right now, too.
