(Newser) – A woman missing since she was abducted in 1991 at age 11 stunned authorities and her family yesterday when she walked into a northern California police station, the Contra Costa Times reports. Jaycee Lee Dugard's alleged kidnappers, a married couple, have been arrested and charged with kidnapping and other offenses; the husband, a registered sex offender, faces rape charges.

Dugard’s stepfather Carl Probyn said his wife, from whom he is separated, called him at 4pm yesterday, the San Francisco Chronicle reports. “She basically said, ‘Are you sitting down? They found Jaycee—she’s alive.’” Probyn says the FBI called his wife, who believed it was a cruel joke until she spoke to the woman on the phone. Now Terry Probyn and the couple's other daughter are flying to Northern California to meet the woman.

This couple is sick. The guy is obviously a Paranoid Schizophrenic and his wife, who knows? That will become clear later on. This kind of illness spreads illness, like Manson spread it. It is likely that Jaycee and her children are also sick probably with the kind of Post Traumatic Stress DO that comes from sexual abuse, but hopefully in a way that can be helped and won't harm still others.
