Obamas Cut Vacation Short

(Newser) – With a tropical storm bearing down on the Northeast, President Obama and Michelle Obama will leave Martha's Vineyard tomorrow, a day ahead of schedule, to ensure he arrives in Boston in time to deliver a eulogy at Ted Kennedy's funeral Saturday. If possible, they'll return to the Vineyard afterward; if they can't, they'll travel directly to Washington, Politico reports.

The president is already working on the eulogy, even though "he’s obviously got a great team of speechwriters," a White House rep said. "This is going to be a very personal statement." Meanwhile, the Obamas took a bike ride today, and the commander in chief attracted attention because of what he wasn't wearing, ABC adds: a helmet. He usually wears one, the spokesman said, and "he supports the wearing of bicycle helmets."

Senator Kennedy was a PERSONAL friend who helped him in the senate, that is why he is writing the eulogy. Would you not write a eulogy for a personal friend who had just died. I would.

"The president is already working on the eulogy, even though 'he’s obviously got a great team of speechwriters,' " omfg. As I suspected, it will be that fratboy, Jon "the groper" Favreau writing the damned eulogy.

Really? 50% approval rating is pathetic? What the GOP wouldn't give for numbers like that....
