(Newser) – The top US envoy to Afghanistan held an “explosive” meeting with President Hamid Karzai last week, sources tell the BBC, with the “dramatic bust-up” focused on reports of election fraud. The meeting was held a day after the Aug. 20 election, before any results were released, but Richard Holbrooke pushed for a runoff to make the process appear more legitimate.

I'm actually suprised they were mad... they both want the same thing... to keep him in power. If the people were actually able to have free and open elections they may likely choose someone other than our hand-picked ruler. We can't have that now, can we?
