His attacks on a child had to be far, far worse, Katie Callaway Hall laments

(Newser) – News that Philip Garrido had struck again horrified the woman he kidnapped and raped in 1976, CNN reports. "I started screaming 'Oh my god, it's him,'" Katie Callaway Hall told Larry King. Hall says she was permanently traumatized when Garrido attacked her as she was handcuffed naked in a warehouse. "I thought I was dead. He changed my life in an instant. For years I walked around like a zombie," she said.

"I can't imagine what Jaycee is going through," Hall wrote for a Larry King blog. "He had me for 8 hours. He had her for 18 years." Garrido was sentenced to 50 years for the attack but was released after 10. Garrido's first wife, Christine Murphy, told Inside Edition last night that Garrido was a "monster" who repeatedly abused her, once trying to dig out her eyes with a safety pin after another man flirted with her.

I don't know about that Neely and even though I'm not religious, I am Spiritual and I have many instances, many, maybe 5 instances in my life where something spiritual intervene when I really needed it and I don't know what the fuck it was but when it seemed I had noone or nothing and was all by myself and fucking saying to the World fuck this shit, something, I don't know what, but something out of the blue happened and saved my ass big time and I use to say and believe it was my Dead Mom, who loved me more than anyone ever, was watching my back, but i don't know, but i like to think she's was the one watching over me and I KNOW I'm not alone because this something has proven to me more then once that it was there for me and that is no bullshit!!

Lawyer hopes Nancy will avoid life sentence

(NEWSER) - Phillip and Nancy Garrido have confessed to kidnapping Jaycee Lee Dugard and holding her for 18 years, Nancy's defense attorney says. The confession was made in an effort to reduce Nancy's sentence, the Los Angeles Times reports: Authorities have offered her a plea deal of nearly 242 years to life, but her attorney says 20 to 30 years is more appropriate.
