After underinflated tire ruptured, pilot couldn't stop plane

(NEWSER) - Underinflated tires played a role in the crash that injured Travis Barker and DJ AM and killed four others. National Transportation Safety Board officials announced today that the underinflation affected the Learjet’s stopping capability and said a tire burst during takeoff. Gone Too Far features Goldstein as mentor to drug addicts

(NEWSER) - MTV intends to air a drug-intervention reality show starring the late Adam Goldstein, better known as DJ AM. In Gone Too Far, Goldstein plays sober mentor to addicts. Given Goldstein’s recent death from a drug overdose, MTV was concerned the show could be seen as hypocritical or exploitative, but ultimately decided that the unique circumstances could strengthen its anti-drug message, sources tell the Hollywood Reporter. (NEWSER) - While most footage of DJ AM’s memorial is still hush-hush, a tribute video from last week's service has hit the Internet, E! Online reports. The video, compiled by friends, shows the DJ behind his turntables with pals such as Jay-Z, Travis Barker, and Sam Ronson. It also shows him with his family and walking arm in arm with his mother: "My mom always said you want to be happy in life, find something you love to do so much, you'd do it for free, then find somebody to pay you for it.” More»

Service held at Hollywood Palladium

(NEWSER) - Celeb pals including Lindsay Lohan (with Sam Ronson), Nicole Richie, and Robert Downey Jr. showed up last night to say goodbye to Adam Goldstein—better known as DJ AM. The private service at the Hollywood Palladium was open to "friends both from his life in recovery as well as those from other areas," read the invitation, which urged those in attendance not to talk to the media. Also spotted were Dr. Drew Pinsky, Rebecca Gayheart and Eric Dane, Tom Arnold, and Jon Favreau, E! Online reports. More»
