(Newser) – Friends and celebrity mourners including Blink-182 drummer Travis Barker attended a funeral for DJ AM today in Los Angeles, Us Weekly reports. The disc jockey, also known as Adam Goldstein, died last week at age 36, of an apparent drug overdose. The ceremony at Hillside Memorial Park, the area’s most prominent Jewish cemetery, lasted 15 minutes; a memorial is set for tomorrow night in Hollywood.

okay 1st off he did drugs and probably O.D, and let's now leave it fucking alone. A very special friend of mine, an older brother figure died, I just found this out today and we have not spoken for a few years because of some bullshit falling out we had, and after finding out today that he died, well, I can't get over it, that i let a simple grudge keep me away from soothing it out with one of the really nice human being on this planet and why, because of some fucking ego and now I can't talk to my good friend anymore and my point is we don't know this guy really just what we read from the gossip papers and he had real friends who really miss him, so who the fuck are we to judge him and we can say this and that about his lifestyle but you know what we should all just shut the fuck up and let the family and friends who cared about him and love him, they should be left alone without our comments to be able to cherish his memory without us being fucking catty with our 2 cents and one last thing i would like to say, if anyone here has a good friend or family they are not talking to because of some bullshit, step up to the plate and call them before it's too late to hear their voice and laughter ever again because I did not with my friend and it's now really fucked up. I can never talk to him again.

Mad, seriously go fuck yourself. Why can't you let a sleeping dog lie? Whether he killed himself or not, why is it of any difference to you? Go talk shit about Jon and Kate or something, but this man died and he obviously had a lot of people that cared about him. No one is worshiping his death, probably just his music which reached out to a lot of people, more than will ever become of you. You really have no idea what depression is like, it took my brother's life. It is real and it is dangerous. "From the outside looking in, you can't understand it. From the inside looking out, you can't explain it." I hope you start to approach something similar to human emotions someday, for the sake of everyone that has to deal with you on a daily basis. Grow the fuck up.

There's your double standard. No-one's deifying the guy. There's just some compassion for him and his family.
