Obama Official Regrets Signing 9/11 Conspiracy Petition

Jones also sorry for crude reference to GOP

Share

(Newser) – Lately, Van Jones has had a lot of apologizing to do. Obama’s green jobs czar issued a statement yesterday renouncing a statement he signed on 911Truth.org, which demanded an “immediate inquiry into evidence that suggests high-level government officials may have deliberately allowed the September 11th attacks to occur.” Van Jones said the statement “does not reflect my views now or ever.”

The 2004 document bears 100 signatures, including big names like Janeane Garofalo and Democratic Rep. Cynthia McKinney. A site spokesman says every signature was confirmed by phone or e-mail. It was Van Jones’ second apology in as many days; on Wednesday, he apologized for a video in which he called Republicans “assholes,” noting that he’d made the comment before he joined the administration.

I'm not sure why he'd regret calling Republicans assholes. Judging by these forums I'm pretty sure all Republicans think that liberals are assholes. Cheney's go f*ck yourself comment is just one example. The 9/11 thing was dumb.

@Citrix. You mean like Duke Cunnigham, Jack Abramoff and Mark Sanford? Can you think of ANY other names that this applies to? Do you think ANYONE involve in the Valerie Plame case might be in the same situation

@wrongthing. While I haven't read the article, the summary mentions NOTHING about race. He signed a petition about 9/11 and called Republicans assholes. Play the reverse-race card much? How is Obama a commie? How old is your reference to the word commie? It's a holdover from the Cold War/Nuclear Family age. The uninformed are becoming informed. It seems that most of that is MISinformation.
