Is Sneijder Better than Beckham?

All he needs is a Spice Girl wife—or, on second thought, maybe not

(Newser) – Wesley Sneijder, newly signed by Real Madrid, isn't the best soccer player since Beckham, says an excited sports blogger—he's better. The 5-foot-7 Dutch footballer has already proved himself "bloody brilliant," he writes, and well worth Madrid's  €27 million transfer fee. He's "the best player Madrid has signed since Zinedine Zidane," says another footballer. Sorry, Becks.

In fact, Sid Lowe at the Guardian makes no bones about who he thinks is the better man. "Unable to fill Beckham's shoes? Pah! On the evidence so far, anything Becks can do, Sneijder can do better," he writes.
