Proposal Sends Woman Over Cliff, Literally

A Washington-area woman is in good condition tonight after accepting a marriage proposal—then tumbling off a cliff, the Post reports. The yet-unidentified couple was hiking along a popular but treacherous trail near the Potomac River when the man popped the question; soon thereafter the woman tumbled about 10 feet, sustaining head and chest injuries. Her hard-to-reach landing spot forced authorities to helicopter her out.

“That must have been a heck of a proposal,” said one Maryland fire official. “I believe she did [say yes]. … If she didn’t, I think we ought to investigate this one.”
