US Porn Star Helps Convict Brit Playboy of Murder

Developer tortured tenant to death to sell property

(Newser) – A British playboy and one-time Hllary Clinton fundraiser is facing a life sentence for the torture-murder of a caretaker who refused to move out of a warehouse he wanted to sell, the Times of London reports. Thanos Papalexis, son of a Greek shipping tycoon, was convicted with the help of Miami prostitute and porn star Rebecca DeFalco, who testified that he once told her he had killed a “nobody” because he “got in the way."

Papalexis fled his creditors and moved to the US after a deal to sell the warehouse collapsed despite the caretaker's murder. He reinvented himself as a James Bond-style playboy, mixing with the elite and throwing lavish events at his Florida mansion, including a fundraiser for Clinton last year. Papalexis is a “classic psychopath,” the court was told, whose unchecked sexual and aggressive urges made him a killer.

He mutilated her body and stuffed a hank of hair he hacked from her head in one of her hands, and the hair of another woman in her other hand. He's now a suspect in another murder of one of his neighbors in Bournemouth and that of a 16-year-old Italian girl, whose body was discovered just last year hidden in a church and clutching a clump of her own hair. (NEWSER) - An Alabama man and his common-law wife are accused of torturing his two children, who were then murdered and dumped earlier this year. Authorities believe remains discovered last week and over the weekend belong to Natalie DeBlase, who would have been 5 in November, and her brother Chase, 3. Their stepmother, Heather Leavell-Keaton, is accused of binding the children with duct tape and stuffing socks in their mouths. She allegedly kept Natalie in a suitcase for 14 hours, and strapped a broom handle to Chase's back, forcing him to stand up all night. More»
