(AP) – An explosion at an illegal coal mine killed 35 miners in central China's Henan province today and left another 44 men trapped, the government said. The mine's owners have been placed under police surveillance and the company's bank accounts have been frozen after an initial investigation found that the mine was undergoing an overhaul and had not been allowed by the Pingdingshan city government to resume production, Xinhua reports.
