(Newser) Grey's Anatomy star and negative-publicity magnet Katherine Heigl is adopting a special-needs Korean baby, RadarOnline reports. The baby's name is Naleigh, and she's 10 months old. The adoption has been in the works for months, and Heigl, whose sister Meg was also adopted from Korea, and hubby Josh Kelley are "so happy," an insider said. In 2007, Heigl told USA Today she's "always planned" to adopt, because having your own kids "doesn't seem like any fun," she said.

Having your own kids "doesn't seem like any fun." How is this a reason to adopt? I just don't get this chick. Reply

Pregnancy is a painful, tiring, and sometimes life-threatening process, and if you're not interested in it, why not adopt one of the hundreds of thousands of needy children here or overseas?

She's getting on the Angelina bandwagon. This clowns can't think except to see what's being talked about most in the gossip colums! " Oh it seems Angelina gets a lot of press and Madonna too for adopting, guess what World I'm going to adopt too, now talk about me too! Clown!" Reply

This is really what she makes it sound like with the "having your own kids isn't as fun!" thing.

While her last comment about having her own children is bewildering, her intention to adopt a child with special needs is admirable. To say this is a publicity stunt by Heigl is rather narrow minded on your part. Raising a child is by no means easy, but it is all the more difficult raising a child with special needs. If her only intent here was to attract attention, do you really think she would be going through this extensive process to care for a child with special needs? Don't be so cynical.
