(Newser) – The Iraqi journalist jailed for throwing shoes at President Bush last year could be out as soon as Monday, his lawyer tells CNN today. Muntadar al-Zaidi had a 3-year sentence reduced to 1 on appeal, and that can be cut further for good behavior. “We are happy,” one of his brothers says, “like any detainee’s family would be happy for the release of its son after the bitter time he spent in jail.”

QFT , a pair of shoes that did not even hit the target is a hell of a bargain as punishment for way over one million of human victims. the bastard deserved an RPG in the ass as reward for all those poor young men (and old ones, and women, and children) who tasted death or remained permanently maimed for his faults.

@mad you left wing people are really bitter over bush aren't you? i have seen the same little snarks from most of you how Bush didn't respect the constitution, and he just ignored it. the funny thing is that President Obama has continued or expanded each policy that the left typically lists when pressed on what Bush did that was wrong, that would be wire tapping, domestic spying, renditions, indefinite detention, etc. So since Bush didn't respect the Constitution because of the above things, and President Obama is continuing those same programs, the question is do you respect him or are you a hypocrite?
