(Newser) – Megan Fox is a "dumb-as-a-rock" arrogant brat who likes to imagine she's Angelina Jolie, blasted angry crew members on the set of her latest Transformers film. They grouse about their "unbearable time watching her try to act," and never getting a "thank you" from Fox, even when they have to waste time covering up the the "awful silly Marilyn Monroe tattoo plastered on her arm."

The three crew members skewered Fox in an open letter on the film's blog site after the actress called film director Michael Bay a "Hitler" who ran an "unsafe movie set" in a magazine interview. Bay "plucked her out of obscurity" to give her the "biggest shot" of her life, said the crew. No comment yet from Fox, but Bay (who removed the letter) said on the blog that he doesn't condone his crew's comments—or Fox's. But "her crazy quips are part of her crazy charm," he adds.

Bullshit, Spy...there are plenty of brilliantly talented actors. I'm working with a bunch of them as I write, touring a play. They range in age from 20s to near 60 and are not only smart, talented and funny, some are high profile (in my country) but they are lovely people and I could wish for no better colleagues. I wonder how many could say that about ALL of the people they work with at any given time. Rocky, you are spot on. Actors and stars are often two very different things.

I've worked several movie sets. Actors are a shockingly small portion of the film industry (on a set of 200 people, 2 are primary actors). The public thinks otherwise because of the celebrity impact on media. Despite that, what happens on sets really is important to actor's careers, and how people behave and treat others goes a long way. The intolerable actors (perhaps like Megan Fox, but who knows), suffer their own foolishness, in the end.

To be fair - I would say the majority of actors and actresses are not very bright. Most never go to college, just acting classes, and a huge number never even graduate high school. Then there are the thousands that were working during their school years and had an "on-set" tutor which everyone knows is just the basic minimum they need to get by and pass a GED. Not sure why someone would be surprised an actress is dumb, lol. On a side note - I love how the 3 mystery authors of the letter want to appear to be the ones taking the high road. In the end, isn't it just an actress you consider DUMB making a statement, while you write an essay to trash her? I have a feeling the writers are 3 females - and like the thousands of females online at gossip sites, news sites, and anywhere else you can leave a comment, they hate her because she is beautiful. Sad but true. I mean at her age, shouldn't she be driving drunk in Hollywood, flashing her crotch to paps, doing coke, stumbling out of L.A. bars at 3 am, leaking a sex tape, or going to rehab? What has she done to be so hated? Yea... exactly. Reply

The majority of everybody is not very bright. Don't forget the average IQ is 100; half below that and half above that. I also don't know where you get your sampling of actors. Seems to me like most have at least some college. The only thing I have noticed about actors is that they fall into that vocation from the ABSENCE of any alternative. The same can be said for cops or a host of other professions, though. At least an actor can make it big, although the vast majority do not.

You still listening? NOT A SINGLE ONE has a college degree. Ready for the females? Anne Hathaway (went to acting classes there, but never graduated), Cate Blanchett, Kate Winslet, Julia Roberts, Cameron Diaz, Drew Barrymore, Michelle Pfeiffer, Charlize Theron, Reece Witherspoon.... You guess it. NONE HAVE A COLLEGE DEGREE. I'd honestly like to know how you could possibly assume I was over generalizing when I said so few actors and actresses were educated? And whether they fell into or not, what does that have to do with them generally not being educated?

I hear there is a guy name Burt Goldstein that is an actor in New York that went to NYU - does that count? LOL, Rob, true. I figured somebody would point that out. Like most everyone else, some future actors drop out of college, some get their bachelors and some go on to advanced degrees. Its probably pretty useless to get a PhD in english lit when somebody is waving cash under your nose. Most of those degrees aren't big money-makers, which helped to lead tose people to their acting gigs. Heavy on the communications / journalism / drama. Not a whole lot of Math / Physics/ PreMed. Notice that Jojo challenged me to name 5 examples of actors with college and I named about 20 and he somehow didn't respond. LOL. I only responded in the first place to his rather mean-spirited post because the entertainment people I personally ever met seem to be fine and bright folk who studied and work pretty hard at what their craft.

Secondly, your reason for being an asshole in the first place is because you said I was "mean spirited" and because the entertainment "folk" you've known have been "bright". I wasn't pointing to a specific actor or actress and calling them dumb, I said the MAJORITY don't have a degree and only went to acting classes. Actually I didn't work too hard on that list at all, which is why it had a lot of drop-outs. I just googled "actors with college". Personally I think of actors as just one class of entertainer along with sports players, musicians, etc. They don't grow anything and they don't make anything but they can make great money sometimes. I know a guy who is in professional sports whose dad was a composer, mom was as singer, uncle is an actor, aunt is a physicist, grandmother is an author, grandfather was an architect. All have college degrees and only the physicist isn't a millionaire. I don't think you get out enough.
