Kanye's Latest Apology Spices Up Leno Debut

'It was rude, period,' says rapper, who asked for chance to speak on Jay's new show

(AP) – Kanye West told Jay Leno tonight he's going to take some time off for reflection after ruining Taylor Swift's night at the MTV Video Music Awards. Appearing on Leno's new 10pm NBC show, West said he knew he was wrong as soon as he handed the microphone back to Swift, after interrupting during last night's show to argue that Beyoncé was more deserving of the best female video award.

West told Leno: "It was rude, period." The rap star had already apologized twice to Swift on his blog and said he wants to apologize in person. He says he wants to take time off and analyze "how I'm going to make it through the rest of this life." He had already been set to perform for Leno's debut show, but asked for time to talk with the controversy swirling.

I respectfully disagree. Rap is more about creativity than skill these days. The technical proficiency that 2pac, Jigga Man, Nas, Biggie, Rakim, Eric B, etc etc etc possesed is rare these days. Kanye is a producer turned rapper that is actually more known for creating excellent soundscapes that he puts good lyrics to. He doesn't have nice delivery.. but his lyrics are nice if you actually listen to them. Graduation, College Dropout, and Late Registration are all great albums. Not to mention that he produces songs for his label, Good Music, that has Common and Kid Cudi as artists to name a few. Give the man some credit please.

Isn't that a bit like saying someone is amazingly good at farting on cue?

I have to question the judgement of anyone that rude (looking at you too, Joe Wilson). And for the record, Beyonce's video wasn't that great, I can think of LOTS of videos that were a lot better. (no diss to Beyonce intended!)
