(Newser) – An airport shuttle driver arrested last night kept notes on bomb-making as well as a scale and batteries, items that can be used in explosives, authorities said today. Najibullah Zazi, 24, also allegedly confessed to taking explosives training with al-Qaeda in Pakistan. The FBI arrested him, his father, and an informant on the non-terrorism charge of making a false statement to the government, the AP reports.

Zazi, his father Mohammed Wali Zazi, 53, and informant Ahmad Wais Afzali each face up to 8 years on the charge. They are being held in Denver County Jail and are expected to appear in federal court tomorrow.

No. You can't convince me that it is not just a case of persecution of these sweet young innocent men by those who are blatantly anti-Moslems. Profiling. No truth to it. Can't happen here.

You sound like a Jesus extremist. I don't think Jesus would be "offing" anybody.

If something isn't done to help the poor in this country (we always talk about working families, but there are poor people who can't FIND jobs) then street crime is liable to become more directed at government and more terrorist in tone..in other words, revolution is in the future when large numbers of poor people become desperate. It was at the root of the French Revolution and the Russian Revolution and the Maoist Revolution and much of the unrest in Mexico, Central and South America to say nothing of anarchy in much of Africa. If votes don't get anything but bidness as usual and guns are easily had, look to your next door neighbor whose house is being foreclosed and who has been laid off for two years for the next terrorist headline. These "Muslim extremists" are frequently poor and unemployed and their anger is directed by more educated extremists, but THEIR wherewithall to live comes out of terrorist coffers, in other words, on some level, it's a job....
