(Newser) – Police are hunting a man whose wife and five children were found slain in their Florida home, reports CNN. The bodies of Guerline Damas, 32, and kids aged 11 months to 9 years were discovered by police after they were contacted by relatives. Investigators believe Mesac Damas, 33, may have fled to Haiti. His car was found at Miami International Airport. He pleaded guilty earlier this year to battering his wife in one of several domestic violence disturbances since 2000.

"This is the worst of the worst," said the local sheriff in the East Naples community. "This is the most horrific and violent event this community has ever experienced."
