The PETA Files are raising some eyebrows

(Newser) – The fine, no doubt well-intentioned people at PETA have a new blog, notes Chris Matyszczyk of CNET, and they evidently didn’t put too much thought into the name. It’s called (drum roll please): The PETA Files. At least, let’s assume they didn’t put much thought into it, because if that pun’s intentional, the fine, well-intentioned people of PETA kind of have some explaining to do.

“Did not one person tear their eyes, ears, and mind away from the subject of animal cruelty to say to themselves, and perhaps even to others, ‘You know, my friends. I think the PETA Files moniker might be a fraction problematic,’” wonders Matyszczyk. Then again, one post from yesterday is entitled “Ronald McDonald Gets Creamed,” so maybe the fine, well-intentioned people of PETA just have filthy minds.

We're not making this up. It's really called that.

I'd rather think that this was on purpose - as a sorry PR stunt - than to believe that the entire organization did not pick up on this. PETA has always been full of irrational assholes, but this is SO next level.
