(Newser) – Yes, there was that whole potato thing. But President Obama’s stint on Letterman included more funny moments, and Time runs down the top 10:

  • During Dave’s Top 10 list, the No. 2 reason why Obama agreed to appear on the show: “Said yes without thinking, like Bush did with Iraq.”
  • After Obama mentioned his daughters goofed off all summer “which I couldn’t do,” Letterman responded, “Ha, ha, ha. Others have!”

  • Dave riffed on the Secret Service—who were lurking just offstage during Obama’s interview—during his opening monologue: “I think this is a relief for all of us. The building has been cleared of all Republican Congressmen.”
  • Obama explained health care to Letterman, who was confused because, "If I'm not feeling well, I go to the CBS nurse.” The president’s response: "Everybody should have a CBS nurse.”

No, no, no, they never use AK47's. They have those easily-concealed hair-trigger UZI's to eliminate any crowd hecklers.
