(Newser) – Actress MacKenzie Phillips slept with her musician father John Phillips in a long-term incestuous relationship that began when she was 19 on the eve of her wedding, she reveals in her bombshell memoir High on Arrival. The Mamas and Papas singer showed up "determined to stop" MacKenzie's marriage to a member of the Rolling Stones entourage, recalls Phillips, 49. "My father was not a man with boundaries. I woke up that night from a blackout to find myself having sex with my own father," she writes.

Her father fantasized about fleeing to a country "where no one would look down on us," writes MacKenzie. "He was completely delusional. No, I thought. We're going to hell for this." Her secret "isolated" her and turned her into a "fragment of a person," she adds in an excerpt obtained by People. Both father and daughter battled drug addiction for years. John Phillips, who died in 2001, admitted introducing Mackenzie to drugs for the first time.

I'm waiting for Woody Allen's latest "wife" nee daughter's tell-all book, if she ever scrapes up enough self-worth to leave him and detail exactly how he molested her into becoming his "wife" instead of his daughter. And for those who think it was all a-ok for Woody to spread her legs because she was only his wife's "adopted" daughter, consider this: he turned his own children's sister into their "stepmom."

Schmidtkoff..... I realize it probably seems like she's just "airing her dirty laundry," but she also directing light on to a subject matter that affects us all. She was 19 when this happened and, granted, an adult, but many young men and women weren't adults when the same thing happened to them. Many spend their whole lives wondering what it was THEY did wrong and more than certain that it was only THEM that it had happened to. Regardless of her true reasons (some of which I'm sure is the final revenge on her father's reputation and subsequently her father as well), by opening up she's acting as a beacon of sorts and, if anything good could come of this, hopefully one or two people will know they aren't alone.
