Actress MacKenzie Phillips slept with her musician father John Phillips in a long-term incestuous relationship that began when she was 19 on the eve of her wedding, she reveals in her bombshell memoir High on Arrival. The Mamas and Papas singer showed up "determined to stop" MacKenzie's marriage to a member of the Rolling Stones entourage, recalls Phillips, 49. "My father was not a man with boundaries. I woke up that night from a blackout to find myself having sex with my own father," she writes.
Her father fantasized about fleeing to a country "where no one would look down on us," writes MacKenzie. "He was completely delusional. No, I thought. We're going to hell for this." Her secret "isolated" her and turned her into a "fragment of a person," she adds in an excerpt obtained by People. Both father and daughter battled drug addiction for years. John Phillips, who died in 2001, admitted introducing Mackenzie to drugs for the first time.
