Manuel Zelaya says “Israeli mercenaries” are planning to assassinate him, and in the meantime are torturing him by pumping toxic gases and high-frequency radiation into the Brazilian embassy in Tegucigalpa. “We are being threatened with death,” he tells the Miami Herald, but “I prefer to march on my feet than to live on my knees before a military dictatorship.”
Zelaya remains holed up in the embassy after making a stealthy return to the country. Witnesses report seeing Honduran soldiers outside using a large satellite dish-like device that emits a loud, shrill noise. But a Honduran policeman dismissed Zelaya’s claims. “He says there are mercenaries against him? Using some kind of apparatus? No, no, no, no. Sincerely, no.” The building’s water and power were turned off briefly, but then restored.
