Taiwan Teen Severs Dad's Hands Over Abuse

17-year-old bought knife, sliced both father's wrists

(Newser) – Police in Taiwan arrested a 17-year-old boy who chopped off his father's hands, allegedly after suffering years of physical abuse. The boy used a knife cut through both of his father's wrists while he slept, although doctors succeeded in reattaching them. Local media reported that the boy suffered frequent beatings and had bought a knife after his father abused him for not getting a job while studying.

(NEWSER) - Chicago police are investigating a father who posted a Facebook photo of a young girl, apparently his daughter, whose feet, hands, and face are bound with duct tape. "This is wut happens wen my baby hits me back," said the caption accompanying the photo posted by Andre Curry, 21. A friend of Curry's insisted Curry was "being playful with his child; people play with their child differently," reports the Smoking Gun . But another friend's comment was of a different nature: "You goin' to jail." The girl appears to be leaning against a baby dressed in a snowsuit. North Carolina mother is charged with assault with a deadly weapon

(NEWSER) - Two young sisters have told police that their mom intended to hurt them in a deliberate car wreck because she was "mad at daddy," according to investigators. The girls, ages 7 and 8, were treated for cuts and bruises after mom Teresa Caffrey of North Carolina drove their car into a ditch earlier this week. "The children conveyed information to my officers saying she had been arguing with their father and that she was 'mad at daddy' and that's why she wrecked the car," said the local police commander. Caffrey has been charged with assault with a deadly weapon, and faces additional charges of child abuse and possession of a controlled substance. (NEWSER) - A mother killed her toddler son as she was trying to "exorcise" a demon from his body, she told Indiana jurors. She accidentally crushed her son's neck as she attempted to stop him from spitting up a concoction of oil and vinegar she hoped would drive out the demon "Marzon," Latisha Lawson explained. "I knew and believe I was interacting with a demon at that time," she said. Lawson and another mother fed the mixture to four children, but the other three immediately spit it up, reports the Telegraph . Lawson hid the body of her son Jeziah for over a year. (NEWSER) - A Pennsylvania mom has been arrested after showing a photo of herself posing with her toddler daughter gagged and bound to a chair with duct tape ... to police. The photo—which shows the mom smiling and her baby clad only in a diaper—first surfaced on the Mediatakeout website. The 21-year-old mom approached Chester County investigators with the original photo, arguing that the site had "stolen" her identity, reports WSBT TV . More»
