'Most Unlikely' HPV Shot Killed UK Teen

Health officials cite 'serious underlying condition,' though girl's school disputes it

Share

(Newser) – The British teen who died after being vaccinated against human papillomavirus had “a serious underlying medical condition,” health officials said today, and it is “most unlikely” that the shot, intended to prevent cervical cancer, killed 14-year-old Natalie Morton. An official at Morton’s school is skeptical. “I have seen Natalie’s file,” he tells the Telegraph, “and there is nothing on it to suggest that she had any underlying health problems.”

The last swine flu killed 40 million people. I'll go with the vaccination...your odds are much better with than without. Life is a crapshoot...good luck to you. Reply

Give me a vac, thanks. One death in a vaccine that has been, quote, "administered with over 1.4 million doses" is an infinitesimal likelihood of death - Something like 0.000000714%. Also, the school admin stating that he's seen Natalie's file and doubts there's a serious medical condition on it is bullcrap - Do you really think schools are allowed full access to a patient's medical record? What use would they have for a full-length record? Reply
