Flirting Makes Men Feel Better

Hanging out with pretty women boosts testosterone level

Share

(Newser) – Forget the bromance: Hanging out with attractive women makes men feel better than they do around other men, a new study finds. Just being around the fairer sex boosts men’s levels of testosterone and cortisol, hormones that improve alertness and well-being. In the trials, just five minutes around attractive women boosted testosterone 14% and corisol, an anti-stress hormone, by 48%.

Around other men, however, those levels fall. The study shows that humans are subject to the “mating response” long observed in other animals. “It all boils down to sex,” says one biological anthropologist. “High levels of testosterone are associated with boosting sexual performance, whereas cortisol helps focus your energy and helps you deal with anxiety.”

T levels are elevated whenmales watch an adult rated X movie-when they attend an adult club with womne dancers etc. The winning team of a sports team has elevated T-levels and the loser-slower levels-men are mych more visual when it comnes to sex and T-levels Reply

Ah, another brilliant piece from Mr Spak. Just where does he get all this crap from - yesterday it was Champagne bubbles and today it's Testosterone and Cortisol bubbling away around pretty women. So levels drop if you are with men,Huh? I am sure if the room was full of pretty boy shirtlifters the same levels would rise. We need another in-depth survey. Reply
