Michelle, Oprah Hit Copenhagen

Share

(Newser) – Copenhagen's star power got a big boost today with the arrival of Michelle Obama and Oprah Winfrey, in town to push Chicago's bid for the Games. Oprah was greeted with "bad weather for hair" and a throng of fans crying "Oprah! Oprah!" as she walked the streets, notes the Chicago Tribune, which offers a bit of Olympic trivia: The first lady's childhood idol was gymnast Nadia Comaneci. Check out photos of their visit to the left.

While it's exiting to have the Olympics in Chicago, the citizens there should know that other cities have accepted a large debt for the process. Local taxes may need to be increased if this is the case. Reply

Your thoughts, Mrs KKK? We're all waiting for our daily dose of racism anti-venom. Reply

No problem with Oprah and Mrs. Obama pushing for Chicago. Got a problem with Obama taking the time to go to Copenhagan. He has plenty to do here. Reply
