Congressman Defiant Over 'Die Quickly' Jab

Apologizes to the dead, not GOP, cites US health care 'holocaust'

(Newser) – The Democratic congressman who belittled Republicans for promoting a health care plan that wants the ill to "die quickly" ratcheted up his rhetoric even more today. Noting that some Republicans had demanded he apologize, Florida's Alan Grayson took to the House floor with an apology of a different sort: "I apologize to the dead and their families that we haven't voted sooner to end this holocaust in America," he said.

He cited a Harvard study that said nearly 45,000 people die each year because they have no health insurance, the Hill notes. The GOP then issued another demand for an apology: "Alan Grayson not only refuses to apologize, he is doubling down on his despicable remarks and he is dragging his party with him."

Well, you're a bit off there. The left wants a public option, the right wants to keep things the same. As of now, people without insurance get sick and die. That's not a lie or a spin, it's a fact. A lie is the death panels. The 2 sides of this debate are in no way shape or form equal. The left is on the peoples side, the right is in the pocket of the health industry.

@odo okay if that is what you want to believe then go ahead and tell yourself that they had nothing to do with the state of the country right now.
