Strip Club's Ad Pokes Fun at Hermaphrodite Runner

'No need for gender testing!' billboard draws complaints

(Newser) – A strip club’s seemingly obvious reference to the South African runner revealed to be a hermaphrodite is, predictably, drawing complaints—though the club’s owner says his billboard proclaiming “No need for gender testing!” underneath a busty model isn’t a stab at Caster Semenya. Lolly Jackson says the latest promotional blitz for Teazers (“the teaze without the sleaze”) is in fact calling out the athletics official who knew about Semenya’s condition.

Jackson wasn’t done there, however. “Maybe the woman who complained should lose a bit of weight and her husband will then stop looking at the Teazers billboard, maybe she is fat and ugly. I don’t give a shit about her moral issues,” he tells the Star, complaining that his establishment is being targeted after previous such envelope-pushing stunts. A rep for South Africa’s ad watchdog—“idiots,” per Jackson—says the agency is looking into the matter.

I am sick and tired of bloody women who have nothing to do but look at Teazers billboards and complain. There are a lot more serious things that are happening in the country. - Strip club owner Lolly Jackson

Billboards like that are wrong, no matter who they insult. Women's bodies, especially those with full breasts, well-rounded, elevated buttocks, tiny waists and flat abs are sinful and should all be covered with a hijab at all times. Even mannequins. I'm sick of all the immoral photos of women on magazines, billboards and television. Censorship is the breastplate of Christians, and criticism of God's creation in the nude is the Christian's sword!

As a man i find the billboards pretty darn offensive and annoying. trust me, i don't have a husband looking at the billboards. what a low life this lolly is.

So, because the club owner has no real reason for posting an unfunny billboard message and can't defend his actions on any other grounds, he decides to take personal jabs at someone who pointed that out? What a man.
