(Newser) – In a micro-blogging first, the UK’s High Court has ruled that a court order may be served via Tweet. The case concerns an anonymous wag who has been impersonating right-wing blogger Donal Blaney on Twitter, sending out tweets under his name with “mildly objectionable” content, the BBC reports. The court agreed with Blaney that using Twitter was the most logical way to deliver the cease-and-desist to the anonymous prankster.

Lawyers are anything but brief, despite the name of the papers they write. I'd like to see a ruling that says oral arguments in court cases must be made in 140 characters or less!
