News Wars

(Newser) – From “infosnacking” to “hyperlocal” news, there is a whole new terminology describing the evolution of news, particularly the move to online news.  The PBS show Frontline has developed a four-part series that examines the ‘News Wars’ taking place all around us.

At stake, according to Frontline, is the very future of news.  Part three examines what is happening to the presentation and control of news.  It looks at the rise of the user as editor and to the odd state that old media finds itself in as both the creator of the news and as an increasingly less powerful distributor of news.
