Dad Let Toddler Drown in Sea as He Macked on Mistress
'We heard a plop,' father recalls

A British dad let a stroller holding two of his children roll from a promenade into the sea where one of them drowned as he made out with his mistress. “I let go of the buggy and seconds into that kiss we heard a plop," married dad of three Andrew Hopper testified at an inquest. “We broke from that kiss and thought, ‘What was that?’ We looked and saw the buggy had gone.”
The couple dove in to pull the two children out. Hopper's eight-month-old baby boy survived, but his daughter, 2, died. Hopper's wife had no idea her husband was having an affair until that day. The coroner ruled the death an accident and said a gust of wind apparently blew the stroller into the sea.
