She Got Fired for Being Too Fat

Model from altered ad says Ralph Lauren called her 'overweight'

(Newser) – Feminists, grab your pitchforks. Filippa Hamilton, the model who appeared in a Ralph Lauren ad so ridiculously photoshopped that her waist looked smaller than her head, now says the fashion label fired her for being too fat. “They said I was overweight and I couldn’t fit in their clothes anymore,” she tells the Daily News.

The 23-year-old, who in real life has 120 pounds on her 5-10 frame, says she was outraged when she saw the ad. “I was shocked to see that super skinny girl with my face,” she says. “I think they owe American women an apology, a big apology,” she says.” Ralph Lauren’s already apologized for the ad and says it had nothing to do with the firing. The company blamed Hamilton’s dismissal on “her inability to meet the obligations under her contract.”

For RL to fire her for being too heavy.WTF is that. I thought the designers were being more conscious than that of what REAL women look like..THAT image they used was photoshopped so badly that the woman wouldn't have been alive..Almost a barbie but worse. Most women..can't fit into their clothes..and when they do buy thier clothes..the sizes are fuc#ed up Designer clothes make the sizes (as in a size 8 is marked a 12 to make skinnier people feel better) Thus in reverse, when someone regular size tries to buy something..they buy something their size it doesn't fit. And they actually don't make things their size. Anyway..The designers are F'ed up.
