Brit Cops Sic Dogs on Eco-Protesters

Officials call it a 'different style of policing'

Share

(Newser) – Climate change activists were chewed up by police dogs as British cops sicced German shepherds on protesters scaling fences at a power station. ''Of course this is regrettable, but it's a combination of reckless behavior by some protesters and us having to respond with a different style of policing," said an official. Some 1,000 activists converged on a giant coal-fueled plant in Nottinghamshire for the weekend protest, reports the Telegraph.

"A lot of people had puncture wounds from the dogs. People were bleeding," said one protester, who estimated as many as 20 people had been bitten.

worse happens in america, it just doesn't get publicized, also free energy made by energy and run through gold lithium batteries originally attempted zero point but instead now produce almost unlimited free energy for the government that charges you for that energy, so theres a lot more to think about than environment

rubber bullets hurt more, but the dogs were a nice touch.....Those fences were there for a reason, they have this new phenomenon called high voltage...they could have done something real stupid and got worse than a dog bite Reply

I hope the dog's didn't get sick, Protesters attempting to climb fence at power station got what they deserve, they should know better than to attempt to disrupt a power grid....bad move, and eco protesters became eco terrorists when they attempted to scale the fence.

I agree...it can be a noble and selfless cause, and fighting for the enviroment IS a worthwhile endeavor, but when you start that stuff??????...you lose
