(Newser) – Third- and sixth-grade teachers at the private Sidwell Friends School knew Michelle Obama planned to attend today's scheduled parent-teacher conferences, but they weren't warned to expect her companion: President Obama. The first couple's trip to Sasha's Bethesda, Md., school and Malia's Washington classroom was low-key, for a presidential motorcade—the executive limo traveled without flashing lights and stopped at traffic signals, the Christian Science Monitor reports.

The president then stayed with the elementary-school theme, visiting with third- and fourth-graders in another Maryland suburb. He asked the kids what they were reading, and when one said Diary of a Wimpy Kid, the Book Critic in Chief responded, "Sasha and Malia loved that. They think it is hilarious."

My parents were never interested in the PTA or even my homework. Family bonds can only grow stronger when parents take an interest in their children's education.

Look at that picture, Fondue! He's not only speaking to kids, he's TOUCHING them! Some of his socialism might rub off on that sweet little boy! WHAT EVER SHALL WE DO TO STOP THIS?

That's LOL, J. As long as he didn't speak to any of the kids it'll be ok.
