Richard Heene wanted to make his family famous, so it's no surprise that the Internet yields a wide variety of background info on the balloon boy dad—from the hilarious (Heene wearing a bra) to the not-so-hilarious (former run-ins with the law). Read on for more:

  • TMZ unearthed two audio gems: Theme songs Heene wrote for shows he cooked up in 2005, "The Psyience Detective" ("Tune into the show that's really effective/Watch Richard Heene—Science Detective!") and "The Contractor" ("If you need it built or fixed/There's just one man to pick/That's Richard Heene—contractor!").

  • CBS, meanwhile, found a YouTube clip (sadly, since taken down) of Heene ranting about fake breasts and make-up—while donning, you guessed it, a bra and make-up. "What do you think of me now? Do you find this attractive?" he asks while cupping his new undergarment. For more Heene quotes, see left.
  • A former employee reported Heene to Children and Family Services sometime between 2004 and 2006. Heene himself admitted as much in a request for a restraining order against the employee, whom he said filed the "erroneous" report to get revenge against Heene, TMZ reports.
  • Heene has also had several brushes with the law: He was arrested in 1997 on charges of vandalism, vehicle tampering, and disturbing the peace, E! reports, and in February a deputy responded to a 911 hang-up call from the Heenes' house and found Richard yelling and wife Mayumi with broken blood vessels in her eye.
