Share

(Newser) – An Indian passenger train plowed into another near the Taj Mahal early today, killing 21 people and injuring more than a dozen. The rear car of the struck train, which was reserved for women and disabled passengers, took the brunt of the impact. Soldiers and villagers near the accident in Agra worked frantically to free passengers trapped in the twisted steel. "We felt a massive jolt," said a passenger. "People sleeping on upper berths fell to the floor." Authorities are investigating what caused the crash.

Bummer. I wonder how many people were riding on the outside when it happened. You think I'm joking, but I'm not. Reply

I hope those on top, if any, saw what was coming and rolled off safely and ran far enough to avoid any catastrophe, and that the ones inside were unlucky because of limited knowledge and escape routes.
