(Newser) – The Los Angeles Angels stayed alive in the American League Championship Series with a nail-biting 7-6 victory over the New York Yankees tonight. The Angels lost a big lead before pulling back ahead in the seventh inning, then saw the Yankees load the bases with two out in the ninth but fail to score. With the National League champion Philadelphia Phillies waiting, the teams play Game 6 on Saturday in New York, with the Yankees now holding a 3-2 edge.

Amazing that either manager has gotten his team this far. I thought Scoscia pulling Lackey was the stupidest move possible until the next inning when Girardi sent Burnett back out after a half hour sitting in the dugout! Wow, these two teams are so competitive their managers try to out-stupid each other. This time, Girardi won the contest.
