Dow Off 108; Commodities Fall

Energy and materials declines trump gains for Microsoft, Amazon

(Newser) – Stocks posted losses today as a big drop in commodities pushed down the energy and materials sectors, the Wall Street Journal reports.

  • The Dow lost 109.13 points to close at 9,972.13.
  • The Nasdaq fell 10.82, settling at 2,154.47.
  • The S&P 500 dropped 13.31, closing at 1,079.60.
