(Newser) – Within hours of a New York Times story spotlighting the West Wing's alleged "boys' club" atmosphere, President Obama played golf with a woman today for the first time since being sworn in. Melody Barnes, the White House chief domestic policy adviser, hit the links as part of Obama's foursome at Fort Belvoir, in suburban Virginia, Politico reports. The pool report said Barnes wore "a baseball cap, dark long sleeve shirt and beige pants."

Wearing sandals and a Secret Service cap, President Barack Obama returns to the White House after playing golf at Fort Belvoir, Va., south of Washington, Sunday, June 14, 2009.

oh, and how could I forget? The nonstop obsession with what Michelle is wearing. I have no doubt her wardrobe is being vetted, too, the way Sotomayor's was.

Welcome to the world, Snarfeh. Now you see why it steamed so many people to hear nonstop about what Hillary wore, what Sarah Palin wore, what Meghan McCain wears at home, what Sotomayor was forced to wear. Of course, in general, men are exempt because in public office they wear basically uniform suits, so the only thing to comment on is the color of the tie and whether or not there is a flag pin. But here we have a perfect example of the obsession with what women are wearing, at all times, since the men were in casual wear as well.

Well put, Netstorm, and he's a chauvenist pig, to boot. Now he brings in this token woman because nothing chaps a narcissist's ass like being called out in public ridicule for perpetuating a "good old boys" club. But he's been wallowing in sexism until now. His chief speechwriter wasn't fired for posting photos of himself and other campaign workers groping an effigy of Hillary...this is the fratboy mentality he steeps himself in. Zero even shamelessly shut Michelle down on TV, sneering that she and his daughters wouldn't be "allowed" to get a "girly" dog. He's a pig.
